“Black White or Asian, this is a Much Love Occasion”, announced Deadly Hunta to an enthusiastic FREEDM Studio as he kicked off 1Xtra’s ‘Word, Sound, Power’ night. Hunta’s positive, conscious lyrics carried an anti-drug, anti-violence, ant-racist message over an infectious, juicy mix of roots reggae, funk and hip-hop which soon had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.”
Deadly Hunta brings immense raw energy to his performances, fusing Dancehall, Hip Hop and Reggae, gripping audiences worldwide with the power of his dynamic lyrics. From backing Hip Hop legends such as Wu-Tang Clan and Ice T, to performing alongside The Supernaturals on their US tour, Deadly Hunta has built up huge credibility throughout the Hip-Hop and Reggae scenes.
As Deadly’s fan-base grew, news of the power of his live shows started to reach Europe. This led onto tours all over France with Selecta Cab, one of the premier influential urban DJs of the country. This included several massive festivals as well as the underground club circuit and key radio stations. Having smashed these shows, the European bookings continued with further performances in France, Denmark, Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic, Sovakia, Hungary, Spain & all around Europe.. even as far as Australia & New Zealand.
One of the best things about Deadly’s unique style is that it is very easily ported over to many different genres of music. His first adventure of this kind was with DJ Aphrodite on his Aftershock album with the track “Ganjaman” on V2. This brought Deadly Hunta global recognition in the drum n’bass scene. He then followed this up with a remix by super-producer Photek of the track “Mamma Mia”, and an Engine-EarZ dubstep remix of his collaboration with Solo Banton, “Unleash the Fire”. Deadly Hunta continues to go from strength to strength, working between tours on a reggae album entitled ‘Kundalini Rise’, featuring productions by Reality Shock & the New Zealand based Reality Chant label due to be released next year.
